Dr. Nicole Nelson uses her certifications in canine rehabilitation and veterinary acupuncture to provide care in the comfort of your own home. She understands how difficult it can be to bring a debilitated dog into a clinic for treatments. Let Pawsome Recoveries be there for you in your pet's time of need.
“I truly enjoy home visits. It gives me the chance to not only get to see the pet in an environment they are comfortable in, but I also get to know the owners/pet parents. They become like extended family.
I also like the ability to see the home and make recommendations to assist in their pet’s mobility. Small changes can make such a difference in overall quality of life. “
Dr. Nicole Nelson grew up locally, attending Manatee High School and University of South Florida for her undergraduate studies. She went on to Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine to obtain her D.V.M. It was there that she developed her love for rehab and the quality of life it was adding to patients. Pursuing this passion she then became a CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) through the University of Tennessee and a certified Veterinary Medical Acupuncturist through Curacore in Colorado.
In 2019 Dr. Nelson returned to the Bradenton area along with her newborn son, husband and dogs. Although she loves all breeds, she has a great affinity for giant breeds that are convinced they are lap dogs. She currently has a Bloodhound, Maine Coon Mix and a recently adopted St. Bernard (pictured below).
When she is not seeing patients or chasing her toddler around, Dr. Nelson enjoys photography, visiting Busch Gardens and refinishing furniture.
